Metaplanet Acquires 135 Additional Bitcoin, Securing a Spot Among the Top 15 Publicly Traded BTC Holders.

Metaplanet Expands Bitcoin Holdings to 2,235 BTC as Stock Price Holds Near ATH

Metaplanet (3350) has further strengthened its Bitcoin (BTC) reserves, acquiring an additional 135 BTC for 1.94 billion yen ($13 million). This latest purchase places the Tokyo-based company among the top 15 publicly traded firms with the largest Bitcoin holdings.

The firm paid an average of 14,360,449 yen per BTC in its most recent acquisition, bringing its overall average purchase price to 12,441,856 yen ($81,195 per BTC). With Bitcoin currently trading around $89,000, Metaplanet’s BTC investment has yielded a 23.2% return so far this year.

Despite this positive performance, the company’s stock dipped 3% to 6,010 yen but remains less than 20% below its all-time high.

According to Dylan Le Clair, Metaplanet’s director of Bitcoin strategy, the company has raised $47 million in equity during the first four trading days of its “21m Plan,” completing 5.54% of its targeted capital raise.
