ICP Holds Range Below $6.66 After Breakout Attempt Fails
Internet Computer (ICP) traded within a narrow range on Wednesday, pinned between key support at $6.05 and resistance at $6.66, following an early-session breakout attempt that lost momentum.
The token hovered around $6.03, up 2.25% over the past 24 hours, while remaining in a tight consolidation zone that has defined price action since last week’s sharp retreat from November highs above $9.80.
Despite the uptick, ICP continues to face a well-established corridor, with $6.05 support and $6.66 resistance repeatedly capping upward momentum over the past year, according to CoinDesk Research’s technical analysis model.
Early trading activity surged to 4.27 million tokens, roughly 68% above the 24-hour average, as buyers tried to push past $6.66. The effort failed, and ICP slipped back toward the center of its range as no fresh catalysts emerged.
Volume later dropped sharply to just 171,000 tokens, with periods of inactivity highlighting a temporary balance rather than a decisive shift in sentiment. The token’s movement reflects the ongoing range-bound structure shaping ICP’s price in the near term.
