SharpLink Deploys $170M ETH Into Institutional Yield Strategy on Linea
SharpLink Gaming (SBET) has deployed $170 million in Ethereum (ETH $3,089.74) into a multi-year yield program on ConsenSys’ Linea network, moving from planning into execution for a strategy first announced late last year.
The approach combines native Ethereum staking rewards, restaking via EigenCloud, and additional incentives from Linea and ether.fi, all under a qualified custodian structure through Anchorage Digital, SharpLink said in a post on X Thursday.
This follows SharpLink’s October disclosure that it intended to allocate up to $200 million of ETH to Linea over multiple years. The firm framed the program as an institutional version of a strategy popular in crypto-native markets: layering multiple yield streams on ETH while retaining tight operational controls.
Consensys-backed Linea is a zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM), enabling faster, lower-cost transactions by batching them for verification on Ethereum mainnet. SharpLink said the combined approach creates an “enhanced yield” profile, making ETH holdings more productive without fully relying on DeFi custody.
The move reflects a broader trend among publicly traded crypto-linked firms toward yield- and infrastructure-focused strategies rather than pure token exposure. SharpLink shares have recently drawn attention after Bernstein initiated coverage with an outperform rating, highlighting the firm as an institutional gateway to Ethereum.
