Bitcoin falls as Trump reportedly axes Witkoff and Kushner’s Iran diplomacy trip

Bitcoin Dips as Trump Cancels Iran-Related Diplomatic Travel

Bitcoin (BTC) slipped late morning in U.S. trading after President Donald Trump signaled a halt to planned travel tied to Iran negotiations.

The cryptocurrency fell roughly $100 to about $77,351 just before noon ET, erasing earlier gains. The move followed a post on X from a Fox News reporter relaying Trump’s comments, in which he said he had called off a trip involving envoy Steve Witkoff and his stepson, Jared Kushner.

Trump said he decided against the यात्रा, citing the U.S.’s negotiating position and dismissing the need for a lengthy trip without clear progress.

Witkoff and Kushner had been expected to travel to Pakistan for another round of discussions involving Iran. The cancellation came shortly after Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi departed the country, tempering expectations for near-term talks.

Market reaction was limited, with Bitcoin’s modest decline suggesting traders viewed the development as a short-term geopolitical factor rather than a broader shift in sentiment.

Investors are now likely to watch for further comments from U.S. officials, as well as any response from Iran. Trump is also scheduled to speak at a crypto conference in Palm Beach around midday Eastern time.
