Trump Media has transferred $343 million worth of Bitcoin to Crypto.com, sparking speculation that the company owned by Donald Trump may be preparing to liquidate a portion of its cryptocurrency reserves. The transaction comes amid growing political pressure, with Democrats preparing to investigate crypto businesses linked to the Trump family following their success in the U.S. midterm elections.
Blockchain analytics platform Arkham identified two transactions involving a combined 4,259 BTC sent from wallets associated with Trump Media. Notably, the Bitcoin originated from addresses linked to collateral backing the company’s convertible notes, raising additional questions about the purpose of the transfers.
The timing of the transaction has drawn attention because Trump Media faces a potential $1 billion repayment obligation later this month. At the same time, incoming Democratic lawmakers are preparing to investigate cryptocurrency ventures connected to the Trump family.
Although the company has not confirmed any plans to sell its Bitcoin, the latest movement has placed its cryptocurrency holdings under greater scrutiny.
Arkham’s on-chain data shows that Trump Media-linked wallets moved 4,259 BTC to Crypto.com in two separate transactions, each involving more than 2,000 BTC. Based on recent prices, the combined transfer was valued at approximately $343 million.
The transferred amount represents nearly 30% of the 14,139 BTC previously attributed to Trump Media, including its pledged Bitcoin holdings.
However, a transfer to Crypto.com does not automatically mean that the company has sold its Bitcoin. Trump Media has previously used the platform for custody and trading-related operations, with similar transactions reported in May and August.
The latest development stands out because the transferred coins were associated with wallets holding collateral for convertible notes. Earlier regulatory disclosures from Trump Media identified 4,260.73 BTC as collateral securing these obligations.
A filing submitted on November 2 revealed that holders of the company’s notes have the right to request cash repayment on November 30. If every eligible noteholder exercises this option, Trump Media could face repayment obligations of approximately $1 billion.
The company has also warned that refinancing or other financial arrangements may not generate enough capital to cover the potential payments. If alternative funding options prove inadequate, Trump Media could be required to sell Bitcoin or other digital assets to meet its obligations.
This financial disclosure makes the latest Crypto.com transfer particularly important. Rather than representing an ordinary custody movement, the transaction could indicate that the company is preparing for a significant liquidity decision. Nevertheless, there is currently no confirmation that an actual Bitcoin sale has taken place.
Democrats Prepare Crypto Investigation as Trump Family Faces Scrutiny
The latest Bitcoin movement comes at a politically sensitive time for Trump-linked businesses. Following their midterm election victories, Democrats are preparing to examine cryptocurrency ventures associated with the president’s family.
World Liberty Financial, the Trump family’s crypto business, is expected to attract particular attention from congressional investigators. Potential areas of examination include foreign investments, company profits, and possible conflicts of interest involving cryptocurrency-related business activities and the administration.
Senator Elizabeth Warren has indicated that she intends to scrutinize Trump’s cryptocurrency relationships. Representative Robert Garcia, expected to take a leading role in the House Oversight Committee, has also warned businesses connected to Trump to prepare for congressional investigations.
Democrats are expected to gain subpoena authority when the new Congress begins in January. Reuters has previously reported that investigations into businesses associated with the Trump family could begin as early as February.
The shift in congressional control could create additional challenges for Trump-affiliated companies. Greater oversight may expose their financial arrangements, digital asset holdings, and commercial relationships to increased public and regulatory scrutiny.
Is Trump Media Selling Its Bitcoin Holdings?
At present, the company has not confirmed whether the 4,259 BTC transfer represents a planned sale. However, the combination of a $343 million Bitcoin movement and an approaching $1 billion repayment deadline has raised concerns about the possibility of a treasury reduction.
November 30 will be a crucial date, as eligible convertible-note holders will be able to demand cash repayment. Investors will also be monitoring the transferred Bitcoin to determine whether it remains at Crypto.com, moves to another wallet, or enters transactions suggesting that the assets have been sold.
Until further disclosures emerge, the purpose of the transfer remains uncertain. However, Trump Media’s upcoming financial obligations could make its Bitcoin holdings an important source of liquidity.

Democrats Renew Scrutiny of CZ’s Pardon Following Binance’s $6.34 Billion Hack
Democrats are also preparing to investigate the pardon granted to former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ), bringing renewed political attention to the exchange’s founder following its reported $6.34 billion security breach.
Although Zhao stepped down as Binance’s chief executive after his 2023 guilty plea, he remains closely associated with the exchange and frequently comments on its major developments. He has maintained that he no longer manages Binance while continuing to defend the company’s operations publicly.
The October 29 security breach targeted internal wallet-signing infrastructure and resulted in unauthorized transactions across multiple blockchain networks. Binance has stated that it will absorb the financial consequences, while Zhao has attempted to reassure users about the exchange’s position.
The incident has added another dimension to questions surrounding CZ’s relationship with Binance and the circumstances surrounding his presidential pardon.

Polygon Recovers as Binance and Polymarket Explore Token Recovery Proposal
Polygon is attracting renewed market attention as a proposed hard fork brings its network back into focus. POL has recovered toward $0.10, while Binance and Polymarket are seeking to recover millions of dollars in stolen tokens through a controversial governance initiative.
Supporters believe the proposal could improve confidence in Polygon’s ability to respond to security incidents and protect affected users. However, the plan has also raised concerns about decentralization and the potential consequences of intervening in blockchain governance.
The central question for investors is whether the proposed recovery measures will strengthen confidence in Polygon and support another POL rally or create additional uncertainty that could trigger fresh selling pressure.
