Kalshi Introduces Election-Focused Midterm Hubs as November Polls Approach

Kalshi, a prediction markets platform, has introduced its U.S. “Midterms Hub” as it works to establish itself as a go-to source for election forecasting and market-based odds ahead of this year’s midterm elections.

The new feature allows users to monitor projected outcomes for individual Senate and House of Representatives races as the U.S. moves toward the November election cycle, the company said in a Wednesday announcement.

According to Kalshi, the Midterms Hub provides a live view of where market participants are placing their positions at any given moment. The platform described the tool as a centralized destination for tracking state and federal election forecasts and understanding how individual races are trending.

The predictions displayed on the hub are generated from the latest odds available across Kalshi’s election markets and presented through an interactive map of the United States.

Beyond prediction market data, the hub will also include polling averages, allowing users to compare market expectations with traditional surveys. It will feature candidate fundraising figures from the Federal Election Commission, along with selected news reports and analysis from various media outlets.

The launch follows reports that Kalshi is seeking approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to broaden its perpetual contract offerings beyond cryptocurrency markets.

Bloomberg reported that the company is looking to expand into perpetual derivatives tied to commodities such as gold, silver, and platinum.

Kalshi’s Midterms Hub is the latest step in the company’s push to expand its political market presence ahead of November’s elections. Earlier in May, the platform launched the “American Power Index,” which it marketed as a political version of the S&P 500 for tracking the relative strength of U.S. political parties.

The company recorded $31 billion in total notional trading volume in June, a rise of more than 70% compared with May. Sports-related contracts made up approximately 85% of trading activity, while Kalshi said World Cup-related markets contributed $22.42 billion in volume.

The new hub arrives roughly one month after reports that Kalshi was attempting to raise capital at a valuation near $40 billion, almost twice the $22 billion valuation from its previous funding round.
