Institutional infrastructure may operate behind the scenes, but it can play an important role in driving asset demand. A new ChatGPT AI forecast suggests XRP could reach between $2.20 and $3.00 by the end of 2026, with $2.50 identified as the most realistic central target.
A major development arrived on August 6 with the proposed XRPL 3.3.0 upgrade. The update introduces improvements designed around atomic transactions and permission delegation.
It also proposes sponsored transaction fees and confidential token transfers. These additions could improve the XRP Ledger’s functionality for institutional use cases and add support to the bullish XRP outlook generated by ChatGPT AI.
Ripple is simultaneously working to expand the ecosystem around XRPL. Its August investments in ZILO and Licuido are focused on tokenized asset issuance and making collateral easier to move across the ledger.
XRP’s utility is also expanding into decentralized lending. FXRP was approved as collateral for a $280 million RLUSD lending market on Morpho. Unlike a simple announcement, the integration represents actual use of XRP-related assets within a lending protocol, which could create more persistent demand if adoption grows.
The bearish scenario centers on the $1.20 level. A sustained break below that threshold could send XRP toward the $0.90-$1.00 region.
On the other hand, if XRPL’s growing utility translates into consistent demand for XRP, the $2.50 level could emerge as a reasonable upside objective.
XRP Price Forecast: Can XRPL’s Upgrades Support a Recovery?
XRP’s previous price performance provides important context. The token climbed above $3.60 last August before entering a prolonged period of weakness.
By October, XRP had fallen below $2.40 in a single session. The decline continued into February 2026, when XRP briefly dropped to $1.13. It then spent several months moving mostly sideways between approximately $1.30 and $1.55.
Another decline arrived in June, with XRP eventually hovering around $1.00 throughout July and much of August. That extended period of inactivity ended last week when the token jumped to $1.68 before sellers quickly took control.
XRP subsequently closed at $1.39, representing a 1.5% decline over the previous 24 hours. The session range was approximately $1.375 to $1.40.
The pullback produced XRP’s first red daily candle since the breakout. Resistance currently appears around $1.42, followed by the recent $1.58 high and the $1.80 area that served as a significant level in December.
Key downside support is located around $1.35 and $1.31, while $1.00 remains the broader support zone.
Although the chart does not include an RSI reading, price behavior provides some clues about momentum. XRP’s approximately 68% rally followed by a 2.92% retreat looks more like a period of consolidation than a clear reversal.
The next important signal will be whether XRP can defend the $1.35 area. Holding above that level would preserve the breakout pattern and potentially keep the path toward $2.50 intact.
XRP Builds Institutional Utility While LiquidChain Targets Interoperability
The broader XRP investment argument is increasingly shifting away from speculation and toward practical utility. XRPL is being developed with institutional transactions, collateral markets and tokenized assets in mind.
LiquidChain is addressing a separate challenge facing the crypto industry: liquidity and applications remain divided among different blockchain networks.
Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana each have substantial liquidity, but moving assets between them can require bridges, additional fees, separate deployments and complicated execution. LiquidChain aims to create an execution layer capable of connecting these ecosystems, allowing developers to deploy applications across multiple networks without rebuilding them individually.
The approach reflects a broader trend toward blockchain interoperability. If tokenized assets, institutional lending and DeFi continue to grow, the ability to move capital efficiently between networks could become increasingly important.
LiquidChain’s presale is currently priced at $0.01493, with more than $948,000 raised. Because the project remains in an early phase, future adoption could play a significant role in determining its potential valuation.
