XRP News: Ripple Broadens Its Ambitions With Brevan Howard Deal

Ripple Prime is expanding its relationship with Brevan Howard by providing the investment manager’s funds with multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing, and financing services across traditional and digital markets. The deal gives Ripple another opportunity to expand its institutional services business, although its direct impact on XRP remains unclear.

Ripple said the agreement reflects increasing demand from leading investment managers for prime brokerage infrastructure that can support both traditional and digital markets within a regulated, enterprise-grade framework. Brevan Howard, a global alternative investment manager, manages approximately $35 billion in assets and has around 1,000 employees.

The latest agreement builds on an existing financial relationship between the two firms. Funds managed by Brevan Howard affiliates participated in Ripple’s $500 million strategic investment in 2025. The development comes as institutional investors place greater emphasis on infrastructure for custody, execution, and financing across digital and traditional assets.

Services Covered by Ripple Prime

Under the expanded mandate, Ripple Prime will provide Brevan Howard funds with multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing, and financing. The platform is designed to give the investment manager access to multiple asset classes and products through a single system, which Ripple says can improve capital efficiency and streamline operations.

The companies have not disclosed which specific asset classes or Brevan Howard funds will participate. Details regarding fees, transaction volumes, and the implementation schedule also remain undisclosed, making it difficult to determine the overall scale of the arrangement.

Noel Kimmel, President of Ripple Prime, said sophisticated investors are looking for a new generation of prime services and that Brevan Howard’s decision to work with Ripple reflects confidence in the company’s competitive position and cross-asset capabilities.

Ripple currently says it holds more than 85 licenses and provides institutional solutions covering payments, custody, prime brokerage, and treasury management. While XRP and RLUSD are identified by Ripple as assets supporting its wider capabilities, the announcement does not indicate that either asset will be used by Brevan Howard funds under the new agreement.

Expansion for Ripple, but Not Necessarily an XRP Trigger

The primary benefit of the agreement is the consolidation of services across traditional and digital markets on a single platform. Brevan Howard Group COO Alan McGroarty said Ripple has created a differentiated platform that the firm expects will make operations easier for its investment teams and improve capital efficiency.

Those comments represent Brevan Howard’s expectations rather than a disclosed measurement of cost savings or investment performance.

McGroarty also emphasized the growing overlap between digital and traditional financial markets and the importance of institutional-grade infrastructure to support that convergence. Ripple described the new agreement as an extension of its existing relationship with Brevan Howard, following the investment made in 2025.

For XRP holders, the distinction is significant. Brevan Howard’s use of Ripple Prime could strengthen Ripple’s institutional footprint, but the agreement does not establish that XRP is required for its brokerage, clearing, or financing services. It also does not confirm that the expanded platform activity will directly create value for the XRP token.

Ripple’s focus on regulated, enterprise-grade infrastructure and its stated portfolio of more than 85 licenses highlights the company’s broader push into institutional financial services. The Brevan Howard agreement marks another expansion of that strategy, extending Ripple Prime’s relationship with a major alternative investment manager.
