XRP Ledger payment activity surged to 2.6 million in a single day, marking its highest level in four months as network usage showed signs of recovery after a prolonged slowdown.
Daily successful payments on the XRP Ledger exceeded 2.6 million for the first time in roughly four months, according to The Crypto Basic, with the data aggregated by Cryptorank.io on Aug. 10, 2026. XRP was trading near $1.01 when the report emerged, despite the stronger on-chain activity failing to generate a significant price response.
The increase follows an extended period of declining XRP prices and weaker activity across the XRP Ledger. The latest figures suggest payment usage is beginning to recover after months of subdued network activity.
The 2.6 million-payment count represents the highest daily total seen over the past four months. The Crypto Basic report attributed the increase to renewed activity on the ledger, even as XRP continued to struggle in the market.
The latest data point to stronger network usage, although the figure represents activity from a single day. Payments are only one part of XRPL’s overall transaction volume, with decentralized exchange activity and account operations also contributing to network usage.
XRPL Payment Activity Remained Strong in June
Data from XRPScan cited by Yahoo Finance showed that the XRP Ledger processed 769,646 transactions on June 16, 2026. Successful payments accounted for approximately 427,000 transactions, representing more than half of the network’s activity that day.
The ledger averaged 23.49 transactions per second, while individual ledgers closed roughly every 3.82 seconds. Decentralized exchange offer creation was the second-largest contributor to activity, followed by account-related operations.
A day earlier, the XRP Ledger processed 900,189 total transactions and 403,422 payments, according to the same report. Both sessions recorded more than 750,000 transactions, indicating that the network could move closer to the 1 million daily transaction mark if payment and decentralized exchange activity continues to grow.
Ripple Expands Its Institutional Business
Ripple is also expanding its institutional infrastructure beyond the XRP token and ledger. Yahoo Finance reported that Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse expects the company to reach a $1 billion annualized revenue run rate by the end of 2026, excluding XRP held on its balance sheet.
The goal follows Ripple’s $1.25 billion acquisition of prime brokerage firm Hidden Road in 2025. The transaction expanded Ripple’s business into credit, clearing and prime brokerage services while complementing its existing payments operations.
The latest 2.6 million-payment figure represents a notable increase compared with XRP Ledger activity seen during the previous four months.
June data also highlight that XRPL’s overall throughput comes from multiple sources, including payments, decentralized exchange transactions and account operations. This broader mix provides additional context for the network’s recent rise in activity.
