Mihailo Bjelic, Polygon Co-Founder, Steps Down from Layer 2 Role

Polygon, originally launched as Matic, was co-founded by Jaynti Kanani, Sandeep Nailwal, Mihailo Bjelic, and Anurag Arjun.

In a recent announcement on X, Mihailo Bjelic, one of Polygon’s four co-founders, revealed he is stepping away from the project. “After much thought and reflection, I’ve decided to step down from the board of the Polygon Foundation and wind down my day-to-day involvement with Polygon Labs,” Bjelic stated.

With Bjelic’s departure, Sandeep Nailwal remains the sole original founder still actively involved in the network.

Nailwal publicly acknowledged Bjelic’s significant contributions to Polygon and wished him well in his future endeavors.

Polygon, a leading Layer 2 scaling solution, continues to evolve following its rebranding from Matic.

At the time of writing, Polygon’s native token, POL, has declined by 5% over the past 24 hours and is currently trading just above $0.23.
