Michael Saylor’s Strategy Acquires 1,045 More Bitcoin, Total Holdings Near $62.5B
Strategy (MSTR), the publicly traded company led by Bitcoin advocate Michael Saylor, expanded its already-massive Bitcoin treasury last week with the purchase of an additional 1,045 BTC for approximately $110.2 million.
The latest acquisition was made at an average price of $105,426 per bitcoin, according to a regulatory filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This brings Strategy’s total Bitcoin holdings to 582,000 BTC, purchased at an average price of $70,086 each.
At current market prices near $107,500, the company’s Bitcoin holdings are valued at roughly $62.5 billion.
The purchase was financed through at-the-market sales of Strategy’s STRK and STRF preferred stock offerings.
Shares of MSTR rose around 2% in premarket trading, following Bitcoin’s rebound from Friday’s levels near $105,000.
