London Stock Exchange
The London Stock Exchange (LSE) is the world’s most global exchange, with nearly 2,500 companies from over 90 countries listed, representing a combined market value of £4.4 trillion. The LSE operates several markets, including the Main Market, London’s primary platform for equity, debt, and exchange-traded products, providing businesses with access to Europe’s most liquid capital pool. Another key market is AIM (Alternative Investment Market), which is the leading exchange for small and growing companies. Since its inception in 1995, AIM has facilitated £87 billion in fundraising for 3,500 companies.
Trading participants can access the LSE’s markets through a variety of secure, low-latency interfaces, such as the Order Book for Retail Bonds (ORB). Launched in 2010, ORB enables private investors to trade bonds in smaller denominations and has helped raise over £4 billion for businesses. The exchange also offers real-time and reference data services, supporting the trading and reporting of more than £1 trillion in securities annually across 400 members.
The LSE is part of the London Stock Exchange Group, which includes a wide range of pan-European businesses in trading, technology, post-trade, and indexing.
