Donald Trump Jr. Denies Truth Social Memecoin Rumors: “It’s a Scam”
Donald Trump Jr. has dismissed growing online rumors suggesting that Truth Social, the social media platform associated with his father, is planning to launch a memecoin. In a post on X, Trump Jr. called any such claims the work of “scammers.”
“There’s no truth whatsoever about Truth Social launching a memecoin,” he wrote late Monday. “Don’t be fooled by false information people are circulating.”
The denial comes after Ran Neuner, a well-known crypto influencer, promoted a viral claim that a new token tied to Truth Social was on the way—allegedly from the same creators behind the TRUMP memecoin.
Adding to the confusion, a flood of so-called “Truth” tokens has surfaced on Ethereum and Solana decentralized exchanges in recent days, according to data from DEXTools.
To reinforce the message, World Liberty Financial (WLFI)—a decentralized finance project linked to the Trump family—echoed Trump Jr.’s warning. “There is no new Trump crypto project,” WLFI stated on X. “WLFI is the only DeFi initiative backed by the Trumps. Everything else is a scam.”
Although Truth Social, launched in 2022, has not officially entered the crypto space, speculation around political tokens has continued to swirl. According to an April shareholder letter, the company does plan to introduce a rewards coin and accompanying digital wallet in the future—but nothing resembling a public memecoin launch has been confirmed.
