The week beginning Oct. 5 brings a mix of technical signals, macroeconomic data and protocol developments that could shape crypto market sentiment.
Bitcoin started Monday on a volatile note, recovering above $86,000 and briefly approaching $87,000 before retreating. The move brought BTC close to an eight-month high, leaving traders focused on the U.S. dollar to determine whether bitcoin can resume its advance or spend more time consolidating.
The technical picture is also improving. Bitcoin’s 50-, 100- and 200-day moving averages are nearing a fully bullish alignment for the first time since 2025. If confirmed, the configuration would reinforce the view that bitcoin’s three-month recovery remains intact.
Macro traders will have several U.S. indicators to monitor, including the FOMC minutes, initial jobless claims and consumer credit. Eurozone retail sales and the preliminary Michigan consumer sentiment reading will also provide additional clues about global economic conditions.
Ethereum is another major focus this week. Core developers are preparing to run the “Glamsterdam” upgrade on the Sepolia testnet, giving developers a key opportunity to evaluate changes before a potential mainnet deployment. The upgrade includes work on account abstraction and data availability.

Token Events
Aave
Aave DAO is voting on a proposal that would allow Sentora to manage a new independent lending market while sharing revenue equally with the DAO. The Aave Request for Final Comment (ARFC) would create a framework for Sentora to operate externally curated Hub and Spoke instances on Aave V4, beginning with an Ethereum deployment.
Sentora would control collateral selection, risk parameters and interest-rate curves outside the Aave DAO’s core risk mandate. Aave DAO would retain smart-contract administrative ownership and receive 50% of the revenue. Voting ends Oct. 5.
AirSwap
AirSwap community members are voting on whether Consensys should temporarily stop automated AST sales if the token falls below the minimum price threshold established by the company. The proposed measure concerns AST sales intended to fund operational expenses. Voting ends Oct. 5.
Derive
Derive is considering a DIP that would increase the portion of applicable protocol fees used for weekly DRV buybacks from 35% to 50%. The proposal would not change the existing buyback mechanism or execution schedule. Voting ends Oct. 5.
Balancer
Balancer is voting on a joint treasury resolution tied to its recent wind-down plan. The proposal addresses outstanding token-swap commitments between BalancerDAO and CoW DAO and outlines the orderly return and pro-rata distribution of treasury-held COW and BAL. Voting ends Oct. 6.
