Strategy (MSTR) announced Monday that it purchased 196 Bitcoin for $22.1 million, bringing its total holdings to 640,031 BTC. The acquisition was executed at an average price of $113,048 per coin, raising the company’s overall average purchase price to $73,983.
The purchase was funded through a combination of common stock sales via an at-the-market (ATM) program and the issuance of perpetual preferred stock.
Following the news, MSTR shares rose 2.5% in pre-market trading, tracking a modest increase in Bitcoin’s price to roughly $112,000.
