Fold Launches Bitcoin Rewards Credit Card With Stripe and Visa
Fold (NASDAQ: FLD) is introducing its first bitcoin-only rewards credit card in partnership with Stripe and Visa (V), allowing users to earn bitcoin seamlessly on everyday purchases.
The Fold Bitcoin Credit Card will run on Visa’s network using Stripe Issuing’s infrastructure. Cardholders will receive 2% back in bitcoin instantly, with an extra 1.5% bonus for payments made via a Fold Checking Account with qualifying activity. Users can also earn up to 10% back at major retailers, including Amazon, Target, Home Depot, Starbucks, and Uber.
“Our card makes earning bitcoin effortless—no categories to manage, no staking, no exchange accounts—just real bitcoin with every purchase,” said Fold CEO Will Reeves.
Stripe called the launch a milestone for its consumer card-issuing platform, designed to help fintechs deliver innovative payment solutions without building infrastructure. Visa’s crypto lead, Cuy Sheffield, noted the collaboration provides “a safe, simple way to earn bitcoin while shopping.”
Fold has processed over $3.1 billion in transactions and distributed more than $83 million in bitcoin rewards through its debit card, exchange, and gift card programs. The credit card expands Fold’s suite of bitcoin-native financial services.
At publication, Fold shares were down 10% to $3.49, and the company holds nearly 1,500 bitcoin in its treasury.
