Dormant LuBian Wallet Moves $1.1B in Bitcoin After Three Years
A Bitcoin wallet linked to LuBian, the mining pool hacked in December 2020, transferred 9,757 BTC—approximately $1.1 billion—on Wednesday, marking its first activity in three years.
Blockchain analytics firms Peckshield and Lookonchain reported that the wallet, tagged “39DUz,” split its holdings between two new addresses, “34kn9z…s9tef” and “bc1q4c…77s0.” It is currently unclear if the move signals potential liquidation or a security-driven transfer to new wallets.
The transaction comes as the U.S. Department of Justice seized $15 billion in Bitcoin from the Prince Group, tied to forced-labor operations in Cambodia. According to Elliptic, the confiscated coins include Bitcoin stolen in 2020 from LuBian, part of a total 127,271 BTC heist valued at $14.4 billion.
This wallet movement underscores ongoing attention on stolen crypto recovery and the lingering effects of the LuBian hack.
