Metaplanet Capitalizes on the Dip, Acquires 156 More BTC

Metaplanet now holds 2,391 BTC, with an average acquisition cost of $82,100 per bitcoin.

Metaplanet (3350) has acquired an additional 156 BTC for $13.4 million at an average price of $85,590 per bitcoin. This latest purchase has contributed to a year-to-date BTC yield of 31.8%. As of March 3, the company’s total Bitcoin holdings stand at 2,391 BTC, valued at approximately $196.3 million.

Additionally, Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich revealed that the company has received formal invitations from both the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and Nasdaq to explore potential listings and introduce their platforms.

“We are evaluating the best approach to enhance global accessibility for Metaplanet shares,” Gerovich stated in an X post.

Metaplanet’s Bitcoin investment strategy has generated an unrealized gain of roughly $21.3 million, while its stock surged 20% on Monday, trading at 4,010 yen.

Following Bitdeer Technologies, Metaplanet becomes the second publicly traded company to announce additional Bitcoin purchases during the market dip.
