ICP Sinks 3%, Then Rallies on Buzz Around Caffeine Launch

ICP Recovers as DFINITY Launches AI-Powered ‘Caffeine’ Platform for Web3

Internet Computer (ICP) trimmed earlier losses on July 15 after DFINITY officially launched Caffeine, an AI-driven Web3 platform allowing users to build decentralized apps using natural language, without writing code.

Unveiled at the “Hello, Self-Writing Internet” event in San Francisco, the launch sparked renewed optimism for the ICP ecosystem. The token had dropped to a low of $5.27, down 3.47% on the day, before rebounding to close at $5.43.

The turnaround followed a period of heavy selling, with ICP sliding from $5.39 to $5.20 in early hours on high volume exceeding 850,000 contracts. However, momentum shifted after 14:30 UTC as large-scale buys pushed the price back above $5.30.

Technical indicators show support forming in the $5.20–$5.28 range, while resistance remains near $5.40–$5.42, a level that has capped several recent rallies. Key accumulation was spotted during volume surges at 14:52, 15:03, and 15:29 UTC.

DFINITY’s fundamentals also added to the bullish sentiment:

  • Over 1 million ICP tokens were burned, tightening supply.
  • The foundation unveiled vetKeys, a new privacy protocol tackling blockchain data security.

With AI integration now live and institutional interest showing signs of growth, ICP may be positioned to challenge resistance levels in the coming sessions.
