Chainlink Expands Support for Popular Meme Tokens Across Multiple Networks
The integration of tokens across multiple networks enhances their visibility, accessibility, and utility, driving increased adoption and investment from diverse blockchain communities.
Over the weekend, several popular meme tokens were integrated into Chainlink’s services, enabling cross-chain availability and secure data streaming capabilities.
In recent days, Shiba Inu (SHIB), along with its ecosystem tokens Turbo (TURBO) and Apu (APU), adopted the Chainlink Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard. This adoption allows these tokens to function seamlessly across 12 different blockchains, extending their reach far beyond their original issuance networks.
On Sunday, additional tokens, including Simon’s Cat (CAT), Coq Inu (COQ), Goat (GOAT), Hamster Kombat’s HMSTR, and Mog Coin (MOG), were integrated into Chainlink’s decentralized data streams. These streams utilize an oracle-based model, where real-time market data is securely collected off-chain, cryptographically verified, and then made accessible on-chain when required.
The Chainlink Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard ensures secure and efficient cross-chain transactions using mechanisms like lock-and-mint (for Ethereum transfers) and burn-and-mint (for transactions across other supported networks).
By becoming accessible across multiple networks, these tokens gain broader exposure and increased distribution, enhancing their utility and encouraging wider adoption among blockchain users.
Following these integrations, Chainlink’s native token (LINK) recorded gains on Monday, outperforming bitcoin (BTC), which faced a 2% decline over the past 24 hours.
This expansion highlights Chainlink’s role in driving cross-chain interoperability and advancing the infrastructure for decentralized finance (DeFi) and digital assets.
