AWS Outage Disrupts Binance, KuCoin, and Several Other Crypto Platforms

Leading crypto exchanges Binance and KuCoin experienced temporary service disruptions on Tuesday following a network interruption at their cloud provider, Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Binance announced the issue via X (formerly Twitter), attributing the disruption to a temporary network outage within the AWS data center. The exchange noted that while some user orders were processing successfully, others were failing, and encouraged affected users to retry.

“Some orders are still successful, but some are failing. If users failed, they may keep retrying,” Binance stated.

Withdrawals on Binance were briefly suspended but resumed just over five minutes after the initial report. However, users on both Binance and KuCoin continued to face difficulties placing trades, according to ongoing user reports on social media.

The outage didn’t just affect trading platforms. Crypto wallet provider Rabby and on-chain analytics tool DeBank also reported full service disruptions in separate posts on X.

AWS, a widely used cloud computing platform, powers infrastructure for countless online services. Outages in its systems can ripple across industries, disrupting everything from websites and apps to data storage and transaction processing—particularly for companies heavily reliant on its backend services.

As of now, AWS has not issued a public statement detailing the cause or scope of the incident.
