ICP Peaks at $5.05 Before Pullback Following On-Chain AI Upgrade
September 9, 2025
Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) climbed to $5.05 after the network’s Ignition milestone enabled large language models (LLMs) to operate natively on-chain, paving the way for AI-powered decentralized applications (dapps).
The token traded within a $0.22 range, testing support at $4.83 before rallying to its intraday high. According to CoinDesk Research, the $4.83 level acted as a key accumulation zone, with 348,793 units exchanged during early buying activity.
ICP’s rally stalled at $5.05, forming a short-term ceiling. Prices briefly consolidated near $4.97 before a late attempt pushed the token to $4.99, but selling pressure quickly drove it down to $4.93. At the time of writing, ICP traded just below $4.90, about 3% off its intraday high.
Volume spiked during this period, with over 170,000 units traded between 14:01–14:03 UTC, indicating potential stop-loss triggers or systematic liquidations.
The Ignition upgrade marks a significant milestone for ICP’s ecosystem, allowing developers to build AI-driven dapps capable of generating smart contracts autonomously. The vision is a “self-writing Internet,” where even non-technical users can deploy decentralized applications using natural language commands.
