Worldcoin’s WLD token jumped 25%, extending weekly gains to nearly 50%, fueled by record user adoption, strong wallet activity, and institutional support.
Over the past week, more than 530,000 new users verified, the highest weekly increase in months, bringing the total verified base above 33.5 million. Wallet activity also hit records, with 31.6 million transactions and daily volumes surpassing two million.
The network expanded its anonymized multi-party computation (AMPC) framework, adding Peru’s University of Engineering and Technology (UTEC) to its list of academic operators alongside KAIST and UC Berkeley. AMPC ensures privacy by splitting encrypted user data across independent nodes, each handling partial computations. With Nvidia H100 chips, nodes can process 50 million uniqueness checks per second, supporting scalability.
Institutional backing strengthened as Eightco Holdings (NASDAQ: OCTO) announced a $250 million private placement to acquire WLD as its primary reserve asset, with an additional $20 million from BitMine. Eightco will rebrand to “ORBS” upon deal closure on Sept. 11.
The combination of network expansion, institutional support, and surging adoption highlights sustained momentum for WLD.
