Polymarket Odds Put Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in Front of Kamala Harris for 2028 Democratic Ticket

Traders on decentralized betting platform Polymarket now see Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as a stronger Democratic contender than former Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2028 U.S. presidential nomination.

Contracts tied to Johnson’s chances are trading at 7 cents, implying a 7% probability of securing the bid. That places him fourth overall, trailing California Governor Gavin Newsom, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. Harris is priced at 5%, tied with Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, while Tim Walz, Michelle Obama, and Mark Cuban are each assigned 1% odds.

Polymarket, which lets users trade outcomes of political and financial events, recently announced new funding from 1789 Capital and the appointment of Donald Trump Jr. to its advisory board.

Johnson’s Rising Political Profile

Speculation over Johnson’s political future has persisted for years. In 2023, he disclosed that several parties approached him after a poll showed 46% of Americans would support his presidential run.

“I was really blown away and honored,” Johnson said during an interview on Trevor Noah’s What Now? podcast. “At the end of 2022, I got a visit from the parties asking me if I was going to run, and if I could run.”

Johnson, who calls himself a centrist and political independent, endorsed Joe Biden in 2020 but opted not to endorse any candidate in 2024. With 392 million Instagram followers and a global profile built on wrestling and Hollywood stardom, Johnson commands a communication reach that could prove pivotal in a political campaign.
