GRVT Launches Retail Price Improvement Orders, Bringing Wall Street Efficiency to DeFi
Licensed hybrid crypto exchange GRVT has introduced Retail Price Improvement (RPI) orders on its platform—marking a significant step toward integrating time-tested traditional finance features into the decentralized trading space.
Now available on both web and mobile apps, the RPI mechanism ensures that retail traders receive execution prices better than those displayed on the public order book. The system is fully automated and designed with transparency and user control in mind. When a trade is initiated, GRVT checks behind the scenes for improved prices. If better quotes are available, the order is filled at that improved rate—all while users maintain complete custody of their funds.
What sets GRVT’s RPI apart is its fair-access design. Retail orders are matched with quotes from select market makers that are inaccessible to algorithmic traders, ensuring a level playing field and targeted liquidity for non-institutional participants.
“This isn’t just another order type—it’s a meaningful upgrade to how DeFi can work,” said Hong Yea, co-founder and CEO of GRVT. “With RPI, we’re showing that users don’t have to choose between self-custody and better execution. You can have both—secure on-chain settlement with real price improvement.”
As a hybrid exchange, GRVT combines off-chain order matching with on-chain settlement, aiming to deliver the speed and efficiency of centralized exchanges without compromising decentralization principles.
To promote the new feature, the platform has launched a “tap and trade” competition on its web and Android apps, inviting users to experience the benefits of RPI in a live setting.
Retail price improvement mechanisms have long been a staple of traditional finance, with programs like the NYSE’s Retail Liquidity Program reportedly saving billions for investors since their rollout in the early 2000s. GRVT’s latest move seeks to replicate—and potentially enhance—that value for a new generation of crypto-native traders.
