Ripple is expanding its corporate treasury platform with AI agents capable of tracking cash, monitoring risk, analyzing forecasts and suggesting actions for finance teams. Despite the automation, human approval remains mandatory before any recommendation can be executed.
The new GSmart capabilities have been integrated into Ripple Treasury, the platform formerly known as GTreasury that Ripple acquired in October as part of its $1 billion push into the corporate treasury market.
The agents can monitor a range of treasury operations, including liquidity, forecasting and reconciliation. They can flag potential issues, suggest appropriate responses and identify the company policy supporting each recommendation. Ripple said the system will not execute any action without approval from a human.
Ripple is also separating AI-driven analysis from core financial calculations. Deterministic software handles the calculations, while AI is responsible for interpreting company policies, detecting patterns and explaining its recommendations.
GSmart was initially launched in June 2025, before Ripple took ownership of GTreasury. The latest update broadens the system’s role across treasury operations and introduces Knowledge Studio, which adds a policy-management layer. It also includes Ask GSmart, an assistant designed to help users query corporate financial information.
According to Ripple, 60% of eligible customers have enabled Risk Insights, while 44% are using Forecast Insights.
The latest rollout also advances Ripple’s strategy following its acquisition of GTreasury. Earlier this year, CoinDesk reported that Ripple had begun incorporating digital assets into its treasury software, giving corporate finance teams the ability to manage them alongside traditional cash.
The platform now supports both traditional and digital assets, extending Ripple’s effort to combine conventional treasury management with blockchain-based financial tools.
