Strategy Holds 840,447 BTC as It Builds Cash and Repurchases STRC

Strategy raised $333.7 million last week through the sale of 3.46 million shares of its common stock, according to a filing issued Monday.

The company, led by Executive Chairman Michael Saylor, kept its Bitcoin holdings unchanged during the week ending Aug. 16, making no purchases or sales. Its Bitcoin treasury remained at 840,447 BTC, acquired for a total of $63.36 billion at an average cost of $75,385 per coin, including related fees and expenses.

Of the proceeds from the stock offering, Strategy spent $132.2 million to repurchase 1,388,720 shares of its variable-rate preferred stock, STRC. Another $52.4 million went toward STRC dividend payments, while roughly $150 million was added to the company’s U.S. dollar reserve.

Strategy’s cash holdings increased to approximately $4.80 billion as of Aug. 16, giving the company a dollar liquidity duration of 2.8 years. The reserve is intended to help fund dividends on preferred shares and interest payments on outstanding debt.

After the transactions, Strategy has approximately $653 million remaining under its preferred-stock repurchase authorization and $1 billion still available under its MSTR common-stock buyback program.

MSTR gained 1.3% in premarket trading, while Bitcoin climbed more than 1% over the previous 24 hours to trade around $63,500.
