Strategy Adds $1.57B in Bitcoin, Extending Weekly Buying Run

Strategy continued its aggressive bitcoin accumulation, purchasing $1.57 billion worth of BTC last week, according to a Monday filing.

The company, led by Michael Saylor, acquired 22,337 bitcoin at an average price of $70,194 per coin. The latest buy lifts total holdings to 761,068 BTC, accumulated for a combined $657.61 billion, with an average purchase price of $75,696 per coin.

By size, the transaction ranks as the firm’s fifth-largest weekly bitcoin purchase.

Bitcoin was trading around $73,600 on Monday morning, up 2.6% over the past 24 hours.

The acquisition was primarily financed through $1.1 billion raised via the sale of STRC preferred shares, along with an additional $396 million from common stock sales.

Shares of Strategy (MSTR) were up about 4% in pre-market trading, tracking bitcoin’s gains over the weekend.
